Tips for Enjoying Disney Quest As of this writing we know of only one Disney Quest "virtual amusement park" in operation, it is at Walt Disney World. Disney operated a few in different cities for a few years but apparently they did not make an adequate profit. There was a rumor back in 2003 that the last Disney Quest may close but it hasn't yet. Updated 4/5/04
Disney Quest is located near the west end of Downtown Disney. It is a building with a green and blue front next to the white circular Cirque du Soleil building. Unlimited admission to Disney Quest is included with the Unlimited Magic Pass (length of stay pass; Ultimate Park Hopper pass), the Premium Annual Pass, and a few special promotional passes. (Hopper Plus and non-ultimate Hopper passes are not good for admission.) Disney Quest has its own annual pass and of course single admissions. Pinball and video games may be "free only", "pay or free", or "pay only". Some games accept quarters or tokens, others accept a card similar to a credit card. Purchase cards at the counter where prizes are displayed. We do not know all of the push button sequences needed to start the various games so we cannot give you all the secrets on finding the free machines. We do suggest that you try to start the machine without coins or card first. If the normal start button doesn't start the game, look for a round green button a little smaller than a dime at the machine front. After pushing the green button, if any, try the other start button(s) if any, again. All we can suggest at this time is to move to a different machine if you do not wish to use any of the pay machines and you are unable to start a machine. Most of the machines that pay out tickets or tokens to win prizes with require coin or card payments. Disney Quest has free internet stations on the fourth floor in the circular eating area. Push the green button to start them. The internet stations have some limitations. Many web sites cannot be visited. Some email systems cannot be accessed either for reading or writing messages. We found that some of the internet stations would shut down randomly without warning although you will get back to the web page you were last looking at when you push the green button again or click the appropriate square on the screen again. We have noticed many machine malfunctions due to worn out buttons and levers.
